Running Assessment
What is involved in our running assessment?
We provide a running assessment at our Frenchs Forest Clinic. Our running assessment is designed to help identify sources of injuries and improve the speed of runners. The assessment is 1 hour in length and you will receive a comprehensive report detailing the Physiotherapists findings. Our goal is to provide you with answers, a rehabilitation strength program and a return to running program.
Part 1: Comprehensive Physiotherapy Assessment:
- Review of previous injuries.
- Review of goals.
- Muscular assessment of running specific muscles testing your flexibility and strength.
- Running assessment on our treadmill using video analysis to analyse technique.
- Following the assessment you will receive a report that includes our findings
- You will receive a 6-week rehabilitation strength program and a return to running program (please note the running program is only given if the Physiotherapist believes you should run)
- All runners will be given education tools to help guide your rehabilitation and training.
- For runners with an acute or overuse injury it may be suggested you return for seperate manual therapy sessions to help aid your recovery.

Part 2: Following the assessment you will be reviewed by the Physiotherapist at week 6:
The Physiotherapist will review previous findings and re-assess changes in regards to flexibility and strength.
The Physiotherapist will review the patient on the treadmill to re-assess running technique.
